Connecting with Patients through EKPF and IgAN Friends
Within the geneTIGA consortium, the European Kidney Patients’ Federation (EKPF) plays a key role in ensuring that the patient perspective is central to our work. Through EKPF’s collaboration, the project connects with IgAN Friends, an international network dedicated to individuals and families affected by IgA Nephropathy (IgAN).
IgAN Friends brings together patients, caregivers, clinicians, and researchers to promote awareness, share knowledge, and provide support to those living with this rare kidney disease. The network’s mission is to empower patients by fostering communication between the medical community and people directly impacted by IgAN, while advocating for improved diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life.
By linking with IgAN Friends through EKPF, geneTIGA strengthens its commitment to patient engagement, ensuring that scientific progress goes hand in hand with the real needs, experiences, and aspirations of the patient community.
